The Model 80390 Sleep Deprivation Chamber was developed at the University of Louisville in the sleep apnea lab. It may be used to provide researchers with the necessary tools for sleep deprivation studies in both mice and rats. It does not require that the animal keep walking as some devices do. The Model 80390 resembles a standard living environment that includes food and water support. It includes a chamber partition to reduce the living area for mice as well as shorten the cycle time controlled by the Half / Full (H/F) toggle switch and the cycle time selector switch on the control housing.
The cycle time selector includes a variety of different cycle times from a continuous sweep of the chamber in 15 or 30 seconds to a 10 or 20 min inter cycle time.
